Goldback Notes receive design imprints on one side while the other only reflects it. In addition, it is standard to showcase a feminine figure representing a cardinal virtue. 

The Florida 100 Goldback honors the virtue of “Libertas,” which means “Liberty. " It symbolizes the universal pursuit of freedom. 

The feminine figure is inspired by the Roman goddess Libertas, who guides a ship through rough waters. This symbol reflects the resilience of Cuban immigrants fleeing oppression to reach Florida. 

Adorned with broken chains, a key necklace, and a seven-pointed crown, she embodies sacrifice and hope. The design features Florida symbols like sea turtles, the Cape Florida Lighthouse, and a rocket launch, celebrating courage, the state's role as a refuge, and the enduring quest for liberty.

A Goldback or foil note is a regional currency accepted as a form of payment in restricted locations within the United States.

Goldback notes hold no dollar legal tender. However, as they are made from .999 pure gold paint applied to a plastic film, they are valued as a bullion item. 

Despite being shaped like regular currency notes, their sizes range from 1/2000th oz to 1/10th oz, as well as their denominations, which can vary from 1/2 to 100, proportionally to their amounts of gold.
