The Design

The reverse design is standard to the series, showcasing the iconic Walter Ott’s sugar maple leaf. It is accompanied by the inscription “CANADA” and the coin’s information in English and French, reading “9999,” “FINE SILVER,” “1 OZ,” “ARGENT PUR,” and “9999.”

Radial lines cover the background surface, and a small maple leaf on the lower right contains the last two digits of the year of mintage, “25.”

It is only the second strike of Silver Maple Leaf coins stamping the effigy of King Charles III's effigy, designed by Steven Rosati.

Additional engravings refer to His Majesty’s name, “CHARLES III,” the coin’s face value of “5 DOLLARS”, and the year of issuance, “2025.”

The background surface is also covered with radial lines. 

RCM Bullion DNA

The Royal Canadian Mint has developed a unique system of authentication of each produced coin to avoid counterfeiting: the Bullion DNA, which stands for Digital Non-Destructive Activation. During the registration process, each coin receives an encrypted string of codes, which are stored in the RCM’s database. Only specific scanners can read the encrypted code.
