The 1/10 oz Gold Maple Leaf is one of the smallest samples of the series. It is equally imprinted with the series motif, the Sugar Maple Leaf design signed by Walter Ott, and it is legal tender in Canada.

The Design

The obverse exhibits King Charles III’s official effigy, designed by Steve Rosati. The inscriptions surrounding His Majesty’s bust read “CHARLES III,” 5 DOLLARS,” and the year of issuance.

The reverse displays the Sugar Maple Leaf design, signed by Walter Ott. It is inscribed “CANADA”, “9999,” “FINE GOLD,” “1/10 OZ,” “OR PUR,” and “9999,” which describes the coin’s weight, metal content, and purity in English and French. 

Both background surfaces are incused with radial lines. A small maple leaf lies on the lower right of the reverse design, beneath the main one, with the year of mintage’s last two digits micro-engraved as a security feature.
