Originally launched in 2024, the series honors the enduring alliance between the United States and the United Kingdom. It is distinguished by a remarkable joint design crafted by Joseph Menna, Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, and Gordon Summers, Chief Engraver of the Royal Mint.

In addition, the series, whose first delivery was a one-ounce coin, now features silver and gold coins of varied size options and finishes. The 1/10 oz Proof Gold Coin is the smallest fractional option of the series, which also comprises 1/2 oz and 1/4 oz gold coins..

The Design

The obverse depicts an elegant left-profile bust of King Charles III. It was designed by Martin Jenning and is surrounded by the words “CHARLES III,” the initials “D.G.REX.F.D,” which in Latin means “By the grace of God, King,” and the coin’s face value of “10 POUNDS.”

Britannia and Liberty share the reverse design by depicting their right-profile busts in opposing orientations. 

Chief Engraver Gordon Summers from the Royal Mint and Chief Engraver Joseph Menna from the US Mint’s design features Britannia wearing a Corinthian helmet and carrying a trident, and Lady Liberty with free-flowing hair adorned with stars and holding a torch.

Engravings describing issuance, weight, fineness, and metal content are inscribed as “1/10 OZ 9999 FINE GOLD, along with “BRITANNIA AND LIBERTY” and “2025.”
