The 2024 Silver Coin follows the tradition of the Maple Leaf original reverse design.
It showcases the Sugar Maple Leaf, a national symbol on a central position surrounded by the inscriptions on this side that refer to the coin’s origin, weight, metal content, and purity in both official languages: English and French. They read: “CANADA” on top, “9999,” “FINE SILVER,” “1 OZ,” and “ARGENT PUR.”
A smaller maple leaf lies on the lower right and contains the year of issuance’s last two digits micro-engraved in it.
However, the obverse design depicts the new monarch King Charles III for the first time in the series. Opposingly to Queen Elizabeth II’s official portrait, His Majesty has a left profile bust engraved, along with His name “CHARLES III,” the coin’s face value of “5 DOLLARS,” and the year of issuance.
Both sides are covered with radial lines in the background surface as part of the series’ security features.
The RCM Bullion DNA
The RCM Bullion DNA consists of an individual string of codes registered on the Mint’s database, which is readable only by specific scanners. Each coin has a unique code, easing a secure authentication process and preventing counterfeiting.
The Monster Box
The Monster Box is a container that comprises 500 coins, distributed in 20 tubes of 25 coins each. Sealed at the Royal Canadian Mint, properly certified, and identified according to its content, the box remains untouched until its final destination.
