2024-S NGC PF-70 UC First Day of Issue Morgan Dollar Proof Silver Coin - FDI Label
One of the most relevant silver coins in the US is the Morgan Dollar.
The US Mint crafted Morgan Dollars from 1878 to 1904, again in 1921 for widespread circulation, and again in 2021 as a commemorative strike.
Morgan Dollars are named after their designer, George T. Morgan, the Fourth US Mint Chief Engraver. He gave Lady Liberty an elegant portrait on the obverse and depicted the eagle on the reverse.
The commemorative strike in 2021 aimed to mark the 100th anniversary of their final issuance. However, it became a regular strike because of its high acceptance among investors and collectors worldwide.
Those issued in the San Francisco branch bear the “S” mint mark.
SD Bullion offers 2024-S Morgan Silver Dollars, purchased from the US Mint on the first day of their official release. They are graded as PF-70 UC coins and sealed in NGC slabs with the First Day of Issue Label.

An NGC PF-70 UC First Day of Issue Coin
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company), which operates independently of sovereign mints, appraises and certifies coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.
NGC considers “First Day of Issue” a coin purchased from its original mint on the very first day of its official release.
The initials PF stand for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes. It exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements.
The expression “UC,” “UCAM,” or Ultra Cameo means this contrast is deeper and more intense than in other proof coins. Grade 70 is attributed to flawless coins.
