The Peace Silver Dollar is one of the most popular silver coins of the 20th century. The US Mint replaced the Morgan Silver Dollars and crafted them between 1921 and 1928 and from 1934 to 1935.
Peace Dollars are a tribute to the peaceful environment installed after World War I and the recognition of the nation’s international power.
In 2021, the US Mint released a commemorative edition of the Peace Silver Dollar for its 100th anniversary. Production was paused in 2022 due to a shortage of silver blanks but restarted in 2023.

The Design
The obverse showcases Lady Liberty by artist Anthony de Francisci in 1921. It features Liberty wearing a radiant crown, with the engravings “LIBERTY” arching over her, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” flanking her neck, and the year of issuance at the bottom.
The reverse illustrates a peaceful bald eagle resting on a rock, holding an olive branch in its talon. The inscriptions read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “PEACE.”
A PCGS MS-70 First Day of Issue Coin
PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service), which operates independently of sovereign mints, appraises and certifies coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no flaws, which grants it a 70 grade.
PCGS considers “First Day of Issue” a coin purchased from its original mint on the very first day of its official release.
