The Design

The majestic bald eagle on the reverse was depicted in a close-up depiction with a deep gaze and a highlighted hooked beak.

The inscriptions on this side read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “1 OZ. FINE GOLD—50 DOLLARS,” describing weight, metal content, and face value.
