2024 1 oz Australian Silver Kangaroo First Issue Proof Coin
The Australian Silver Kangaroo is one of the most traditional series of the Perth Mint. It reaches its 9th edition in 2024, with the Kangaroo, a native marsupial in Australia, stamping gold and silver coins.
The 2024 edition is a landmark in the series. For the first time, the effigy of King Charles III, the succeeding Monarch of the British Commonwealth, will be depicted in the Kangaroo Series.
The Perth Mint issued only 7,500 pieces of 1 oz Silver Kangaroo Proof Coins, housed in a classic display case and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

The Silver Kangaroo Design
Silver Kangaroo Bullion coins have a pattern reverse design, showcasing a hopping Kangaroo inside a peaked circle.
The inscription “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO,” referring to the series moniker, arches over the image while the coin’s year of issuance, weight, metal content, fineness, and year of issuance are at the bottom rim. They read: “2024 1 OZ 9999 SILVER.”
The discreet “P125” on the right stands for the Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.
For the first time, King Charles III’s left-profile bust featured on the obverse side of the Silver Kangaroo Coins. The engravings “CHARLES III,” “AUSTRALIA,” and “1 DOLLAR” encircle His Majesty’s portrait.
