The Design

The silver coins of the series differ from their counterparts in the reverse design. They have an exclusive close-up depiction of the Dragon, with water cascading from its mouth, twisted body, paws, and holding a pearl, a sign of wisdom.

Besides the image, the inscriptions beneath the Dragon correspond to the Chinese symbol for the creature, “DRAGON 2024,” and reference to the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint, “P125.” 

The obverse is standard to all coins of the series. It showcases the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, created by artist Jody Clark. It consists of a crowned right-profile bust, encircled by “ELIZABETH II,” “1952-2022,” “AUSTRALIA,” “1 KILO 9999 Ag,” and “30 DOLLARS,” informing name and reigning period, the coin’s origin, weight, purity, metal content, and face value.
