First released in 1982, the Mexican Libertad Collection became a symbol of endurance. The design imprinted on its gold and silver coins reflects the Centennial of the National effort for independence.

Over the years, the Mexican Mint has boosted the collection to comprise coins of varied sizes and finishes, including a 1/10 oz silver coin.

The 1/10 oz Silver Libertad is one of the smallest fractions. It is made of 99.9% fine silver and shares the series’ standard design, which features the Winged Victory.

The Design

The reverse showcases the Winged Victory, the Roman goddess who became a 17-foot monument of freedom in Mexico City. 

Additional engravings refer to the coin’s weight, purity, metal content, and mint year. It reads: “1/10 ONZA PLATA PURA 2024 LEY .999.” The “M” mint mark is also included.

The obverse features the current Mexican Coat of Arms encircled by “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.” 

The Absence of imprinted face value

Despite not having a specific denomination, Libertad coins are made of 99.9% fine silver. The Central Bank of Mexico ensures their legal tender status through weight and purity levels, which means they are worth their weight in silver.
