The Design

The obverse features the ancient figure of Lady Justice, the goddess of truth. In the image, as a standard, she is blindfolded, representing impartiality, carries a scale to balance facts, and a sword as a symbol of authority to make law prevail.

The series moniker “JUSTICE” arches over her, while the Latin motto “FIDES ET JUSTITIA” and the year of issuance, “2024”, flank her on both sides.

The reverse contains the Coat of Arms of Gibraltar, encircled by the coin’s legal tender, mintage, purity, metal content, face value, and weight, which read: “GIBRALTAR,” “2024,” “9999 FINE GOLD,” “5 POUNDS,” and “1/10TH TROY OUNCE.”

Because it is a proof coin, blank fields display a mirror-like surface, while the design elements are frozen.
