The Bald Eagle has long been the reverse design. As 2021 marks the program's 35th anniversary, a new reverse side, depicting the Eagle perching on a branch, became the current image. 

Inscriptions regarding the coin’s weight, metal content, and purity are: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER.”
