The American Eagle Collection
Produced for widespread circulation and collection purposes, the US Mint has released American Silver Eagles annually since 1986.
The American Eagle Program also includes Gold Eagles, Platinum Eagles, and, more recently, in 2017, the Palladium Eagles. In addition, Silver Eagles are struck not only in brilliant uncirculated condition but also with Burnish and Proof finishes.
The Design
To celebrate the 35th year of the program, a new bald eagle design by Emily Damstra came to replace the original Heraldic Eagle on the reverse.
In the image, the Eagle appears in a more natural depiction as it flies carrying a branch of oaks. The motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” lies aside. The inscriptions on this verse read: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR. 1 OZ. FINE SILVER.”
The obverse remains the original, first stamped on the Half Dollar coin. The Walking Liberty, which Adolph A. Weinman designed in 1917, walks under the sun rays, carrying a branch of oak and signalizing a welcome with her arm stretched. “LIBERTY” is the word engraved on the upper rim, while “IN GOD WE TRUST” is on the right face of the design, and the year of issuance is on the bottom.
The MintCertified™ First30 Mini Monster Box
The Mini Monster Box is composed of 5 tubes. Each tube houses 20 coins, which accounts for 100 coins in total. The coins are part of those minted in the first 30 production days.
After being separated and certified at the US Mint’s facilities, the coins are placed in a strapped box and immediately sealed with a plastic sleeve. The coins remain untouched during the packaging process.
