The Silver Eagle Series
Released in 1986, the American Eagle program debuted with the one-dollar 1 oz Silver Eagle coin, along with a golden counterpart. It quickly became one of the most popular and sought-after bullion coins in the precious metals market.
The Silver Eagles remained constant with its annual strikes of the 1 oz coin in brilliant uncirculated condition, Burnished, and Proof versions.
The Design.
The obverse of the American Eagles came from the 1917 Half Dollar. Adolph A. Weinman designed the Walking Liberty to be the Half Dollar’s face, but it was so popular that it ended up stamping the American Eagle’s obverse in 1986.
In the image, Lady Liberty, a feminine personification of the nation, walks under the sun, carrying oak branches and stretching her arm in a welcoming sign. The word “LIBERTY” is on the upper rim, while the sentence “IN GOD WE TRUST” is aside, and the year of mintage is on the bottom.
The reverse brings a new depiction of the Heraldic Eagle. Designed by Emily Damstra, the Eagle flies carrying some arrows.
Inscriptions surrounding the image read: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” ONE DOLLAR. 1 OZ. FINE SILVER.” The motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is above the metal content information.
The MintCertified™ First30 Sealed Tube
Each tube houses twenty 2023 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coins, struck in the first 30 days of production. After being adequately certified at the US Mint’s facilities, they are placed in a box and immediately sealed with a plastic sleeve so the coins remain untouched during the packaging process.
