2023 1 oz Lady Justice Gold Coin
The Lady Justice Series is a coin collection that aims to honor the legal system's fairness. Because of that, the coins’ motif focuses on the iconic figure of Lady Justice, the ancient goddess of virtue.
The Scottsdale Mint strikes silver and gold coins for the Lady Justice Series in limited issues. The one-ounce Gold Coin, for example, is restricted to 2,000 units only, contributing to its scarcity and, consequently, numismatic value.
Besides, the Gold Lady Liberty Coin is made of 999.9 pure gold, making it precious not only for its historical and artistic expression but also for its metal content.

The Design
The new obverse mintage maintains the series’ original features but provides Lady Justice with a more modern depiction. Traditionally, Lady Justice is blindfolded, representing impartiality, holds a scale to balance facts, and a sword as a symbol of authority to make law prevail.
The Lady has “JUSTICE” arching over her, the Latin motto “FIDES ET JUSTITIA” and the year of issuance, “2023”, flanking her.
The reverse showcases the Coat of Arms of Gibraltar in focus, surrounded by “GIBRALTAR,” “2023,” “9999 FINE GOLD,” “10 POUNDS,” and “1 TROY OUNCE,” referring to legal tender, mintage, purity, metal content, face value, and weight, respectively.
Dies used to make proof coins receive a special polishment to provide the blank fields a mirror-like luster. The image engraved with a frozen effect contrasts against the brilliant background.
