The Design
The obverse features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, former leader of the Commonwealth Community. Around her effigy, the words imprinted refer to the coin’s face value, metal content, fineness, weight, origin, and the Queen’s name through: “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” “1/20 oz 9999 Au,” and “5 DOLLARS.”
A leaping rabbit is the image engraved on the reverse side. The Chinese symbol for a rabbit is beside the animal’s depiction, the mint mark “P” represents the Perth Mint, and the inscription “RABBIT 2023” completes the design.
