2020 PCGS MS-69 DMPL First Strikes 5 oz America The Beautiful Marsh-Billings Rockefeller Silver Coin

Between 2010 and 2021, the US Mint produced 56 silver coins as part of the America The Beautiful series

Each coin is crafted from 5 Troy ounces of 99.9% pure silver and showcases designs celebrating some of the nation's most iconic natural landmarks. These coins offer a captivating, tangible link to America's natural splendor and historical heritage.

The Marsh-Billings Rockefeller Silver Coin is the fourth strike of 2020 and the 54th in the overall America The Beautiful Quarters Program.

Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park in Vermont is the only national park in the US focused on the history of conservation and the development of land stewardship. It was once the childhood home of George Perkins Marsh, one of the country's earliest conservation advocates, and later belonged to Frederick Billings. Its most recent owners, Laurance S. and Mary French Rockefeller, eventually donated it to the American people.

SD Bullion offers 2020 5 oz America The Beautiful Marsh-Billings Rockefeller Coins, purchased from the US Mint within 30 days of their official release. They are sealed in PCGS slabs certified as MS-69 coins.

It also features “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”

The reverse design symbolizes conversationism awareness. It shows a young girl finishing planting a Norway spruce seedling beside a mature tree, representing the forest's ongoing life cycle. The child embodies the conservationist role, working to preserve a sustainable forest for future generations to enjoy and learn from.

Further inscriptions read “MARSH-BILLINGS ROCKFELLER,” “VERMONT,” “2020,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

A PCGS MS-69 DMPL “First Strikes” Coin

PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service is internationally recognized for appraising and grading coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.

For PCGS, “First Strikes” refer to coins purchased from the original mint within the first 30 days of their official release and taken to its appraisal.

MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins that have never circulated. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.

According to PCGS, DMPL stands for Deep Mirror Proof-Like and refers to coins struck for circulation but with unusual mirror-like fields and frosted design details that are very similar to Proof coins.
