The Design

This coin looks like a minted ingot. It is rectangular in format, with rounded edges, a smooth surface, and design details imprinted on both sides in portrait orientation.

The obverse portrays Queen Elizabeth II, the leader of the Commonwealth Community, designed by Jody Clark. 

The accompanying inscriptions read “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” “1 oz 9999 Au”, which refers to the Queen’s name, the coin’s origin, weight, purity, and metal content.

The description of the coin’s face value of “100 DOLLARS” and the year of issuance, “2019,” are beneath Her Majesty’s portrait.

The Dragon design on the reverse showcases two dragons chasing the flaming pearl. A discreet “P” mint mark at the bottom indicates the Perth Mint.
