These 2020 1/10 oz Perth Mint Lunar Year of the Mouse Gold Coins celebrate the Chinese Lunar calendar, like all other coins released in the Lunar Series III. It honors the Year of the Mouse in the Chinese calendar, or as we know it, 2020. A total of 12 animals are featured in the 12-year Chinese calendar cycle. Perth Mint's Lunar Series has become a popular way of honoring the Chinese zodiac for not only precious metals enthusiasts and collectors, but just for people who have an appreciation for the Chinese Lunar calendar as well. It is predicted that this will continue with this first release of the Lunar Series III.

These gold coins are minted using .9999 gold bullion by the Perth Mint. These coins are the first release of the Lunar Series III, after the massive success of the two previous Lunar Series.

The obverse of these gold coins features a profile image of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. Around her image are the words “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA”, “15 DOLLARS”, & “1/10 oz 9999 Au”. The profile image is a more recent depiction of the queen than previous year’s mintages.

The reverse features a field mouse climbing up a wheat stalk and looking to the left with more wheat in the background. The Chinese symbol for “mouse” and the words “MOUSE 2020” are minted to the left of the mouse along with the Perth mintmark on the far left of the coin.
