The final 5 oz silver coin in Perth Mint's Lunar Series II is now available at SD Bullion! These 2019 5 oz Australian Lunar Year of the Pig Silver Coins announce the onset of a brand-new year, ruled by the last animal in the Chinese zodiac -- the Pig.

Perth Mint started the second iteration of the Lunar Series Silver Coin program building on the tremendous success of the first. The first coin under the Lunar Series I program was launched in 1999, while the first coin in the Lunar Series II program was launched in 2008.

Just like last year's releases, these silver coins are also struck using 0.9999 pure silver. Each coin contains 5 troy ounces of 0.9999 fine silver. Moreover, they are assigned legal tender status in Australia with face values of $8 (AUD). 

The obverses bear the familiar portrayal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Created by Ian Rank-Broadley, this rendition is common on circulating coinage in the country.

On the other hand, the annually-changing reverses make every release under this coin program unique. This year, the Perth Mint celebrates the Year of the Pig with an adorable pig design -- the last animal in the Chinese zodiac.
