2017 PCGS MS-69 DMPL First Strike 5 oz America The Beautiful Silver 5-Coin Set
The America the Beautiful Quarter Program was first released in 2010. Each year, the US Mint struck 5 different designs in both clad quarters, and on 5 Troy ounce silver coins of 99.9% fine silver.
The US Mint produced 56 designs for the program until 2021, featuring distinctive reverse designs showcasing America’s iconic parks, monuments, and forests.
In 2017, the series depicted in its silver coins the following sites: the Effigy Mounds National Monument, the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, the Ellis Island, and the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park.
The 2017 America The Beautiful Silver 5-Coin Set, which gathers five alluring silver coins, can be found at SD Bullion. They were purchased from the US Mint within 30 days of their official release and individually graded by PCGS as MS-69 DMPL coins.

The design also features the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”

The Ozark Riverways Reverse Design
The coin design features Alley Mill, a steel roller mill constructed in 1894. This mill was used for turning wheat into flour. Many of the original machines are still intact, and park visitors can tour the mill. The engravings on the outer rim read "OZARK RIVERWAYS," "MISSOURI," "2017," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
The Ellis Island Reverse Design
The reverse features an immigrant family arriving at Ellis Island, embodying a blend of hope and uncertainty. In the background, the hospital building is visible. Inscriptions on this side are “ELLIS ISLAND,” “NEW JERSEY,” “2017,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”.
The George Rogers Clark Reverse Design
The coin design portrays George Rogers Clark guiding his men across the flooded plains as they near Fort Sackville. The inscriptions accompanying the image read “GEORGE ROGERS CLARK,” “INDIANA,” “2017,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
A PCGS MS-69 DMPL “First Strikes” Coin
Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) works independently of sovereign mints. It evaluates and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which rates coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
PCGS calls “First Strikes” the coins purchased from the original mint within the first 30 days of the official release and submitted to its appraisal.
MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins. Grade 69 is attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
According to PCGS, DMPL stands for Deep Mirror Proof-Like and refers to coins struck for circulation but with unusual mirror-like fields and frosted design details that are very similar to Proof coins.
