The Design

The obverse reflects the nation's journey toward progress, peace, and enlightenment. 

It showcases Lady Liberty marching forward with a torch, an olive branch, the word "LIBERTY" engraved on top, the Capitol Building, and the coin’s mintage year.

The reverse design displays a female eagle nurturing her hatchling under her wing while the male stands guard on their nest. 

It also includes the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” as well as the coin’s information of weight, metal content, and face value, which reads “1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD—10 DOLLARS.”
