2015-W PCGS PR-70 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof Coin

The US Mint first released American Silver Eagles in 1986, and they quickly gained popularity in the bullion market.

Besides the bullion version, US Silver Eagles are crafted in proof finish, enhancing their patriotic design, which reflects the Founding Fathers’ core values and ideals.

These coins, in particular, were issued in the West Point Mint and bear the “W” mint mark.

The Design

Inscriptions describe the coin’s face value, weight, metal content, and purity, reading “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.” The “W” mint mark is also present.

On the obverse, Lady Liberty, enveloped in the American flag, walks towards the sun. She holds oak and laurel branches in her arms and signals a welcome gesture. 

The words “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issuance are also engraved.
