2014-P NGC SP-70 Early Releases 5 oz America The Beautiful Great Sand Dunes Burnished Silver Coin
The US Mint released a total of 56 silver coins as part of the America The Beautiful Quarter Program from 2010 to 2021. Each annual release includes 5 silver coins, each weighing 5 Troy ounces of 99.9% fine silver, featuring iconic American parks, monuments, and forests.
The Great Sand Dunes Silver Coin is the fourth release of the 2014 edition and the 24th overall in the series.
Located in Colorado, Great Sand Dunes National Park is home to North America's tallest sand dunes, which rise approximately 750 feet (230 m) from the floor of the San Luis Valley at the western base of the Sangre de Cristo Range. The park covers about 19,000 acres (7,700 hectares).
These particular coins are burnished samples. They carry the “P” mint mark, indicating they were issued by the Philadelphia Mint and were purchased from the US Mint within the first 30 days of their official release.
SD Bullion offers 2014-P 5 oz America The Beautiful Great Sand Dunes Burnished Silver Coins, sealed and certified by NGC as perfect SP-70 Early Releases coins.

The Design
The obverse depicts George Washington's bust, designed by John Flanagan in 1932. This design is inspired by the official effigy of the former President created by William Cousins in 1786.
It also features the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.” The “P” mint mark from the Philadelphia Mint is on the lower right.
The reverse showcases father and son beside a river, with the sand dunes as a backdrop. The image is encircled by "GREAT SAND DUNES," "COLORADO," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and “2014.”
Burnished Coins
A Burnished Coin results from a “burnishing” process, hence the name. It essentially means that the blanks are cleaned from all oxides formed during the annealing and rimming process. This way, burnished coins get a satin look and a smooth surface but less reflective luster than the Proof version.
