2013-P NGC SP-69 Early Releases 5 oz America the Beautiful Mount Rushmore Burnished Silver Coin
America The Beautiful collection was produced by the US Mint from 2010 to 2021. The series delivers five-ounce silver coins stamped with America’s most emblematic parks, monuments, and forests.
The Mount Rushmore Silver Coin is the fifth strike of the 2013 edition and the 20th in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial showcases the faces of four U.S. Presidents carved into the granite surface of Mount Rushmore. The mountain, a batholith, is located in the Black Hills near Keystone, South Dakota. Sculptor Gutzon Borglum designed the memorial and supervised the sculpture of the presidents' faces, which took nearly 14 years, from 1927 to 1941.
These particular coins are burnished samples. They carry the “P” mint mark, indicating they were issued by the Philadelphia Mint and were purchased from the US Mint within the first 30 days of their official release.
You can purchase 2013-P 5 oz America the Beautiful Mount Rushmore Burnished Silver Coins at SD Bullion, sealed and certified by NGC as SP-69 Early Releases coins.

The Design
The obverse features George Washington's effigy, designed by John Flanagan in 1932. It is an inspired version of the former President’s official portrayal illustrated by William Cousins in 1786.
It also contains the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.” The “P” mint mark is on the lower right.
The reverse shows workers carving the faces of two presidents into the rock. The background profile view corresponds to George Washington’s portrayal as the nation’s first president and Thomas Jefferson's in the foreground, the nation’s third president.
The engravings read “MOUNT RUSHMORE,” “SOUTH DAKOTA,” “2013,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
Burnished Coins
A Burnished Coin results from a “burnishing” process, hence the name. It essentially means that the blanks are cleaned from all oxides formed during the annealing and rimming process. This way, burnished coins get a satin look and a smooth surface but less reflective luster than the Proof version.
