2011 PCGS MS-69 DMPL First Strike 5 oz America The Beautiful Silver 5-Coin Set

The US Mint introduced the America The Beautiful Quarter Program in 2010 and crafted alluring silver coins for the series until 2021.

During that period, the mint crafted 56 designs that featured on both circulating quarters, and a collection of 5 Troy oz coins of 99.9% fine silver. Each design stamped one of America’s most emblematic parks, monuments, and forests.

2011 marked the second strike of the America The Beautiful series, and it imprinted the Gettysburg Military National Park, Glacier National Park, Olympic National Park, Vicksburg Military Park, and Chickasaw National Recreation Area.

At SD Bullion, you can acquire the 2011 America The Beautiful Silver 5-Coin Set, which gathers the five silver coins released that year. They were purchased from the US Mint within 30 days of their official release and individually graded by PCGS as MS-69 DMPL coins.

  • All coins were evaluated, encapsulated, and graded as an MS-69 DMPL coin by PCGS;
  • Deep-Proof-like appearance;

The Obverse Design

The obverse depicts George Washington's bust, signed by John Flanagan in 1932. This design is inspired by the official effigy of the former President created by William Cousins in 1786.

It also displays the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”

The Gettysburg Reverse Design

It showcases the Gettysburg National Monument, commemorating the infamous Civil War battle and President Abraham Lincoln's famous address in 1863 at Gettysburg’s Soldiers National Cemetery.

Inscriptions on this side read “GETTYSBURG,” “PENNSYLVANIA,” “2011,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

The Glacier Reverse Design

it features a classic view of Mount Reynolds' northeast slope towering in the background while a mountain goat climbs over the rocky slopes of the park's high country.

The inscriptions on this side are “GLACIER,” “MONTANA,” “2011,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

The Olympic Reverse Design

It depicts a Roosevelt elk standing on a gravel bar along the Hoh River, with Mount Olympus as a backdrop. Inscriptions on this side read “OLYMPICS,” “WASHINGTON,” “2011,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

The Vicksburg Reverse Design

It reproduces the U.S.S. Cairo on the Yazoo River as it was while serving the U.S. Navy during the Civil War. The inscriptions accompanying the image read “VICKSBURG,” “MISSISSIPI,” “2011,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

The Chickasaw Reverse Design

It depicts the Lincoln Bridge, constructed in 1909 to commemorate President Abraham Lincoln's 100th birthday, set within a pristine landscape with trees, birds, and rocks. The inscriptions accompanying the image read “CHICKASAW,” “OKLAHOMA,” “2011,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

A PCGS MS-69 DMPL “First Strikes” Coin

Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) works independently of sovereign mints. It evaluates and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which rates coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.

PCGS calls “First Strikes” the coins purchased from the original mint within the first 30 days of the official release and submitted to its appraisal.

MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins. Grade 69 is attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.

According to PCGS, DMPL stands for Deep Mirror Proof-Like and refers to coins struck for circulation but with unusual mirror-like fields and frosted design details that are very similar to Proof coins.
