The Design
The obverse depicts George Washington's bust, designed by John Flanagan in 1932. It is based on the former President’s official depiction illustrated by William Cousins in 1786.
It also contains “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”
The reverse features the facade of the Hot Springs National Park headquarters building with a thermal fountain in the foreground. Inscriptions on this side read “HOT SPRINGS,” “ARKANSAS,” “2010,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
