2010 PCGS MS-69 5 oz America the Beautiful Yosemite Silver Coin - John Mercanti Label
The US Mint introduced the America The Beautiful Quarter Program in 2010. This program features a distinctive series of five-ounce silver coins imprinted with America’s natural wonders and significant history.
The Yosemite Silver Coin, released as the third coin in 2010 and also the third in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, showcases the Yosemite National Park. Established in 1890, this California park, among the earliest wilderness parks in the US, is celebrated for its majestic waterfalls. Spanning nearly 1,200 square miles, it encompasses deep valleys, vast meadows, and ancient giant sequoias.
John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, created numerous designs for US circulating, commemorative, and bullion coins, including the original reverse of the Silver Eagles. In 2021, he was recognized as one of the most influential figures in numismatics.
SD Bullion sells 2010 5 oz America the Beautiful Yosemite Silver Coins, certified as MS-69 coins and sealed in PCGS slabs with the exclusive John Mercanti Label.

It also contains the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”
The reverse features El Capitan, which rises more than 3,000 feet above the valley floor and is the largest monolith of granite in the world. Inscriptions on this side read “YOSEMITE,” “CALIFORNIA,” “2010,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
A PCGS MS-69 Coin
Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) works apart from sovereign mints evaluating and grading coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which rates coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.
MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
