2007-W NGC PF-70 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof Coin - Edmund C. Moy Label
Proof Silver Eagles, like the bullion version, contain 1 Troy oz of .999 fine silver. These coins, in particular, were struck at the West Point Mint, one of the US Mint branches, and carry the “W” mint mark. They are also graded as PF-70 coins and sealed in NGC slabs with a label in honor of the 38th Mint Director, Edmund C. Moy.
Edmund C. Moy is considered the luminary Father of the Modern Coin Era. He served as Mint Director from 2006 to 2011. Moy played a pivotal role in designing numerous coins and revolutionizing the numismatic market with notable series, like the 24k Gold Buffalo series, the legendary 2009 Ultra High Relief, and others.

The Design
The moniker “Walking Liberty” comes from the depiction of Lady Liberty striding toward the sun's rays enveloped in the American flag. She also holds oak and laurel branches in one hand while stretching the other arm to welcome new immigrants.
The obverse design includes the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” the word “LIBERTY,” and the year of mintage.
The reverse design features the Heraldic Eagle, which has the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches on its talons, and a banner with the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on its beak. Thirteen pointed stars above the Eagle represent the original colonies.
The “W” mint mark from the West Point branch is on the lower left.
The reverse also contains the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR,” describing face value, weight, metal content, and purity.
Because it is a proof coin, its surfaces exhibit a mirror-like luster, contrasting with the design’s frosted image.
An NGC PF-70 Coin
NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises and grades coins, apart from sovereign mints, using the Sheldon Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70 depending on their condition.
PF stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes, which exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements. 70 is the highest grade and indicates a coin with no visible flaws.
