In this image, Lady Liberty strides forward with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing the nation's journey toward peace and enlightenment. The Capitol Building, the word “LIBERTY,” and the coin’s mintage year also appear in the design.

On the reverse, Miley Busiek's artwork features a female eagle protecting her hatchling beneath her wing while the male eagle watches from their nest. 

The engravings indicate the coin's weight, metal content, and face value, reading “1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD—5 DOLLARS,” along with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
