Assigned a perfect PR-70 Deep Cameo grade, these 1998-P American Silver Eagle Proof Coins have been extensively inspected by experts at PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Agency). Moreover, they are encased in secure plastic slabs to protect them from external harm. Labels inside the plastic encasing detail the year of issue and also display the serial number assigned to each coin during the grading process.


PR-70 grades are reserved for coins that do not feature any imperfections whatsoever, while Deep Cameo designations are only given to coins that display a beautiful contrast between the designs and the silver surface.


The American Silver Eagle program is one of the most popular coin programs in the world, running successfully since 1986. Each of these particular coins is minted using 0.999 pure silver, weighing 1 troy ounce. Moreover, the United States Government has assigned a face value of $1 (USD) to every American Silver Eagle Proof Coin.


The obverse of the coin shows the Lady Liberty walking forward, as the sun rises over the horizon. Known as the Walking Liberty, this portrayal is the handiwork of the famous sculptor, Adolph A. Weinman. On the other hand, the reverse highlights the famous Heraldic Eagle rendition, a design created by the Chief Engraver of the US Mint at the time, John Mercanti.
