Among these, the 1/10 oz Gold Eagle stands out as the smallest option, with a $5 face value and legal tender status. Crafted with an alloy of 3% silver and 5.33% copper for enhanced durability, the coin still contains a full 1/10 oz of pure gold.

The Design

The obverse replicates the 1907 $20 Double Eagle Gold Coin, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.

It includes the Capitol Building, the word “LIBERTY,” and the coin’s mintage year.

The reverse features Miley Busiek's artwork. It portrays a female eagle protecting her hatchling beneath her wing while the male eagle watches from their nest. 

Weight, metal content, and face value are inscribed as “1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD—5 DOLLARS,” along with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
