The reverse showcases the Winged Victory, the Roman angel of independence, with outstretched wings, holding broken chains and a laurel wreath as symbols of freedom. 

Additional engravings refer to the coin’s face value, “50 PESOS,” its weight, “37.5 Gr,” metal content “ORO PURO,” the year of independence “1821” on the lower left, and the minting year on the right.
