The Mexican 50 Pesos gold coin is more than just a beautiful artifact; it represents a significant chapter in Mexican history. 

Struck to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mexico's independence, the Bank of Mexico issued these coins between 1921 and 1947. 

The Centenario gold coin is larger than typical one-ounce bullion coins with a weight of 1.2057 ounces and a 37.1mm diameter.

The Design

On the reverse, the Winged Victory, the angel of independence, is portrayed with outstretched wings, holding broken chains and a laurel wreath as symbols of freedom. 

The coin’s face value, “50 PESOS,” its weight, “37.5 Gr,” metal content “ORO PURO,” the year of independence “1821,” and the minting year accompany the image.
