On the reverse, the Winged Victory, the angel of independence, has outstretched wings, broken chains and a laurel wreath as symbols of freedom. 

The coin’s face value, “50 PESOS,” its weight, “37.5 Gr,” metal content “ORO PURO,” the year of independence “1821,” and the minting year accompany the image.
