1914-S PCGS MS-63 $20 St. Gauden Double Eagle Gold Coin
The US Mint produced Double Eagle Gold Coins from 1907 to 1933 to serve as the official $20 circulating coin in the US during that period.
The coins weigh .9675 Troy oz of gold content and Saint-Gaudens’ design, which was used decades later to stamp the obverse of the American Gold Eagle coins.
Those issued in the San Francisco Mint carry the “S” mint mark.
Because of the economic collapse of the 1930s, only some of the Pre-1933 gold coins survived the confiscation act and the popular practice of melting them down for their gold content due to high inflation in gold prices.
Today, SD Bullion has in stock 1914-S $20 St. Gauden Double Eagle Gold Coins sealed and certified by PCGS as MS-63 coins.
