1914-S NGC MS-65 $20 St. Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coin

St. Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coin is a masterpiece of American coinage history. The design signed by artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens became a symbol of national pride reproduced years later on the US Gold Eagle’s obverse side.

This coin was the official 20-dollar coin in circulation in the US from 1907 to 1933. The US Mint used several branches to craft them, and those issued in the San Francisco Mint are identified by an “S” mint mark.

Today, SD Bullion offers 1914-S $20 St. Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coins, graded by NGC as MS-65 samples.

An NGC MS-65 Coin

NGC—Numismatic Guaranty Company is an independent third-party company in the numismatic market. It appraises and grades coins based on the Sheldon Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.

An MS-65 coin means that the analyzed coin has the same format as a business coin that still displays high-quality luster despite its aged mintage. Minor contact marks and scatters may be noticeable, but the coin has an overall quality above the average.
