The $20 St. Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coin is widely considered one of the most beautiful coins ever produced by the U.S. Mint.
Struck for general circulation between 1907 and 1933, it served as the official $20 coin. Coins minted at the Denver Mint are marked with a "D" mint mark.
Each St. Gaudens Double Eagle contains .9675 troy ounces of gold and features a striking design later revived for the U.S. Gold Eagle coins under the American Eagle Program.
