1905 PCGS MS-66 $2.50 Liberty Quarter Eagle Gold Coin
From 1840 to 1907, the Liberty Quarter Eagle Coin served as the US's official $2.50 circulating coin.
Each coin includes 0.12094 troy ounces of gold and boasts a distinguished design by Christian Gobrecht, noted for being the longest unchanged design in American gold coin history.
In the economic downturn of the 1930s, numerous $2.50 Liberty Half Eagles, like other pre-1933 gold coins, were seized, hoarded, and melted down due to rising gold prices.
You can find 1905 $2.50 Liberty Quarter Eagle Gold Coins, sealed and certified by PCGS as an MS-66 sample, at SD Bullion.

The Design
On the obverse, Lady Liberty’s effigy wearing a coronet inscribed "LIBERTY" is encircled by thirteen six-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Original Colonies. The year of mintage is engraved at the bottom.
On the reverse, the Heraldic Eagle was portrayed with outstretched wings, bearing the national shield on its chest and holding arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The only inscriptions engraved refer to the nation’s name and the coin’s face value.
A PCGS MS-66 Coin
PCGS—Professional Coin Grading Service appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70.
MS stands for mint state. It refers to a coin struck in the same format as a business circulation coin that remained uncirculated. Grade 66 indicates the coin may have contact marks and signs of wear and tear, but it is above average in quality of strike and preserved original mint luster.
