The Design
The obverse depicts Lady Liberty wearing a coronet engraved with the word “LIBERTY.” It also contains thirteen stars, representing the Thirteen Original Colonies and the year of issuance.
The reverse features the Heraldic Eagle with the national shield on its chest, arrows and oak branches on its talons, and the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” inscribed on a banner above the eagle.
It includes the engraving “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and the coin’s face value inscribed as “TEN D.”
