PMG-70 Limited Early Release Gold Aurum Oklahoma 3 Goldback Note (24K)
Oklahoma premieres in the Goldback market as the seventh American state to adopt it as a voluntary currency embedded with actual gold. Despite not being federally recognized as legal tender, selected vendors honor them based on their assigned monetary value.
Since the Utah Goldback’s debut in 2019, the series has expanded to include Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, and now Oklahoma.
Oklahoma’s debut is a 3 Goldback Note made of 24k. The intricate design blends symbolism, cultural pride, and aesthetic detail to celebrate Oklahoma's heritage and values. In addition, it is graded as a limited early release by PMG.
Today, SD Bullion offers the Oklahoma 3 Goldback Note, which contains 3/1000 Troy oz of 24k gold, graded as a PMG-70 Limited Early Release note.

The Design
It is standard for all Golback Notes designs to showcase a feminine figure symbolizing a particular virtue.
The Oklahoma 3 Goldback introduces Ingenium (Ingenuity) as a feminine musician wearing a wide-brimmed hat, holding a guitar, as a homage to Oklahoma’s musical roots and independent spirit.
The backdrop is the Black Mesa State Park, showcasing its native flora, soaring rock formations, and a bird in flight, which captures the essence of the state’s natural beauty and freedom.
The first inscription refers to the PMG’s grade, which reads “LIMITED EARLY RELEASE.” The “3” monetary denomination is engraved beside “OKLAHOMA GOLDBACKS.” The note’s weight and metal content are at the bottom.
The note displays design elements on the obverse, leaving the reverse blank and mirroring only what was imprinted on the obverse.
Goldback Notes
A Goldback or a foil note is a voluntary regional currency accepted as payment in specific locations within the United States. Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, and Oklahoma are states that have issued goldback notes.
These notes hold no dollar legal tender. However, they are valued as a bullion item because of the 24k gold paint applied to a plastic film.
Despite being shaped like regular currency notes, they range in weight from 1/1000th oz to 1/10th oz, and their denominations, which can vary from 1/2 to 100, are proportional to the amount of gold they contain.
A PMG-70 Limited Early Release Goldback Note
Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) is a trusted third-party service that grades the condition of paper currency using a standardized numerical scale.
A perfect grade of 70 represents a note that is flawlessly preserved with no signs of wear.
The “Limited Early Release” designation indicates that this particular Goldback was part of an exclusive initial issue, making it a collectible version distinct from standard circulating Goldbacks.
