PCGS MS-65 $2.50 Liberty Quarter Eagle Gold Coin - Random Year
Liberty Quarter Eagle Coins served as the official $2.50 circulating coins from 1840 to 1907 in the US and still hold legal tender status.
They are imprinted with Christian Gobrecht’s design, which is remembered as a landmark for its remarkable endurance. This design remained unaltered for 67 years—the longest-lasting design in American coinage.
Today, SD Bullion offers $2.50 Liberty Quarter Eagle coins of varied mintage years, sealed in PCGS slabs and graded as MS-65 coins.

The Design

The reverse showcases the Heraldic Eagle with outstretched wings, the national shield on its chest, arrows, and an olive branch on its talons.
The inscriptions on this side are limited to the nation’s name and the coin’s face value.
A PCGS MS-65 Coin
PCGS—Professional Coin Grading Service is an independent third-party company in the numismatic market that appraises and grades coins based on the Sheldon Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
An MS-65 coin means that the analyzed coin has the same format as a business coin that still displays high-quality luster despite its aged mintage. Minor contact marks and scatters may be noticeable, but the coin has an overall quality above the average.
