Liberty Quarter Eagle Coins served as the official $2.50 circulating coins from 1840 to 1907 in the US and still hold legal tender status.

They are imprinted with Christian Gobrecht’s design, which is remembered as a landmark for its remarkable endurance. This design remained unaltered for 67 years—the longest-lasting design in American coinage.

The reverse showcases the Heraldic Eagle with outstretched wings, the national shield on its chest, arrows, and an olive branch on its talons.

The inscriptions on this side are limited to the nation’s name and the coin’s face value.
