The Obverse Design
Augustus Saint-Gaudens created this design to be on the 1907 20-dollar Double Eagle Coin design.
In the image, Lady Liberty is marching forward, carrying a torch and an olive branch. The march symbolizes the nation's evolution to progress, peace, and enlightenment. The word “LIBERTY” is engraved on the upper rim. The Capitol Building is on the lower left, and the coin’s mintage year is on the right.
Reverse Design Type 1
This design is the original reverse. It showcases a family of Bald Eagles, with a female eagle cherishing its hatchling under her wing while the male perches on their nest.
It is supplemented by the engravings “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the coin’s description of weight, metal content, and face value, which reads “1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD—10 DOLLARS.”
Reverse Design Type 2
This one is the design update that happened in 2021 as a commemorative deed to the 35th anniversary of the American Eagles Program. Jennie Norris showcased the majestic bald eagle in a close-up depiction with a deep gaze, highlighted hooked beak, and the same inscriptions of the original design.
An NGC MS-70 coin
NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises coins using the Sheldon Scale and grades them from 1 to 70 based on their condition.
MS or Mint State is a piece with the same format as a widespread circulation coin that remained uncirculated. Grade 70 is attributed to flawless coins.
