NGC MS-64 1926 $10 Indian Head Eagle Gold Coin
The Indian Head Gold Eagle Coin was the official $10 currency in the US, minted from 1907 to 1919 and then irregularly until 1933.
The 1926 edition followed a four-year hiatus in production from 1921 to 1925. The US Mint produced these coins exclusively at the Philadelphia Branch. They contain .48375 oz of actual gold and Augustus Saint-Gaudens' design.
Because of its gold content, many 1926 Indian Head Eagle Coins were confiscated by the US Federal Government after the Gold Confiscation Act of 1933, which led to a considerable decrease in the number of coins available in the market.
Today, SD Bullion offers 1926 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coins, sealed in NGC slabs and certified as MS-64 samples.

The Design
On the obverse image, Augustus Saint-Gaudens designed Lady Liberty wearing a headdress made of feathers, representing the Native American heritage, engraved with the word “LIBERTY.” The year of issuance lies beneath Liberty’s image.
On the reverse, he portrayed a Bald Eagle standing on an arrow wrapped around an olive branch. The mottos “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM" flank the eagle. The nation’s name, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” arches on top while the coin’s face value of “TEN DOLLARS” is at the bottom rim.
An NGC MS-64 coin
NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.
MS stands for Mint State, referring to coins issued in the same format as a business circulation coin. 64 is the grade given to coins with average luster, noticeable, light scuff marks, or defects but with attractive overall quality.
