The Design

Goldback Notes receive design imprints on one side, with the reverse being the face's reflection. In addition, it is standard to showcase a feminine figure representing a cardinal virtue. 

The Florida 50 Goldback represents the virtue “Amor Patriae,” which in Latin stands for “Love of Country.” The design portrays a Women’s Airforce Service Pilot (WASP) flying a P-51 Mustang over Hendricks Army Airfield, honoring the patriotism and bravery of women who served during WWII and Florida’s 1.5 million veterans.

Sunlight reflects off the plane's canopy as the pilot, adorned with service insignias, embodies the principle, "Be watchful, stand firm." 

Goldback Notes

A Goldback or foil note is a regional currency accepted as payment in restricted locations within the United States.

Goldback notes hold no dollar legal tender. However, as they are made from .999 pure gold paint applied to a plastic film, they are valued as a bullion item. 

Despite being shaped like regular currency notes, their sizes range from 1/2000th oz to 1/10th oz, as well as their denominations, which can vary from 1/2 to 100, proportionally to their amounts of gold.

The year of mintage may vary based on currently available supply.
