Gold Aurum 24k Arizona 5 Goldback Note
The Aurum Mint proudly presents the Arizona 5 Goldback Note, the eighth release in its renowned Goldback Notes Series.
First launched in Utah in 2019, the series has since expanded to include Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, Oklahoma, and now Arizona, each design celebrating the unique culture and heritage of its state.
Goldback notes are beautifully crafted, voluntary local currencies made with 24-karat gold, accepted by some merchants in select U.S. states based on their intrinsic and perceived value, even though they are not considered Federal legal tender.
Now available at SD Bullion, the Arizona 5 Goldback Note contains 1/200 Troy oz of .9999 fine gold.

The Design
It is standard for all Goldback Notes designs to showcase a feminine figure symbolizing a particular virtue.
The Arizona 5 Goldback introduces “Lex et Ordo,” the virtue of Law and Order, vividly depicted in this artwork set in Tombstone, Arizona, inspired by the legendary 1881 gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
A law woman, wearing Virgil Earp’s U.S. Marshal badge, stands resolute, symbolizing the bravery of those who upheld justice in the Old West. Around her, meaningful symbols enrich the scene: the O.K. Corral backdrop, a Gila monster crawling through the desert dust, and blooming daisies referencing Doc Holliday’s famous line, “You’re a daisy if you do.”
At the bottom, the timeless creed of precision and discipline is inscribed: “Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.”
The “5” denomination is inscribed near “ARIZONA GOLDBACKS,” with the gold weight and content noted at the bottom.
The note displays design elements on the obverse, leaving the reverse blank and mirroring only those on the obverse.
Goldback Notes
A Goldback or a foil note is a voluntary regional currency accepted as payment in specific locations within the United States. Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona are states that have issued goldback notes.
These notes are not legal tender. However, they are valued as a bullion item because of the 24k gold paint applied to a plastic film.
Despite being shaped like regular currency notes, they range in weight from 1/1000 oz to 1/10 oz, and their denominations, which can range from 1/2 to 100, are proportional to the amount of gold they contain.
