The Aurum Mint proudly introduces the eighth release in its renowned Goldback Notes Series: the Arizona 1/2 Goldback Note.

These Foil Notes first launched in 2019 with the debut of the Utah Goldback, the series has since expanded to celebrate the unique heritage and spirit of each participating state, now featuring Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, Oklahoma, and the newest addition, Arizona.

The Design

It is standard for all Goldback Notes designs to showcase a feminine figure symbolizing a particular virtue. 

The Arizona 1/2 Goldback depicts “Fides,” which translates to “Faith.” It celebrates faith through the story of Arizona’s early Spanish missionaries, who brought light, belief, and cultivation to the desert. 

A young woman holding a candle embodies this steadfast faith, surrounded by desert wildlife, a lemon tree, and the iconic Mission San Xavier del Bac. Her Spanish attire and cross signify Catholic devotion, while Psalm 27:1 ties the composition together: “The Lord is my light.”

The “1/2” monetary denomination is engraved beside “ARIZONA GOLDBACKS.” The note’s weight and metal content are at the bottom.

The note displays design elements on the obverse, leaving the reverse blank and mirroring only those on the obverse.
