The 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter 24K Gold Coin Design

The obverse features Liberty standing within an opening in a wall adorned with 13 stars. She looks back over the shield resting on her left arm while holding an olive branch in her right hand.

The design is complemented by the inscriptions “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “1916.” To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, the coin also bears a special Liberty Bell privy mark incorporating the numeral “250.”

The reverse portrays a soaring eagle surrounded by 13 stars. It includes the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR,” along with the “W” mintmark, signifying production at the West Point Mint.

The 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter Silver Medal Inspired Design

The obverse portrays a windswept Liberty carrying a shield while extending olive branches toward an eagle in the distance. The shield is detailed with 50 rivets representing the states of the Union and 13 stripes symbolizing the original colonies. The design is completed by the inscription “LIBERTY.”

The reverse features a close-up view of the olive branches now held by the eagle, with 13 stars framing the design. The inscription “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” appears along the rim.
