The Design
The obverse reproduces Adolph A. Weinman’s “The Walking Liberty” design, which depicts Lady Liberty striding forward with the American flag draped over her shoulder.
The feminine guise stretches one arm to welcome immigrants to the New World as she carries oak and laurel branches.
It also contains the year of issuance, the word “LIBERTY,” the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the bald eagle privy mark.
The reverse, designed by Emily Damstra, depicts a Bald Eagle perched on a branch with its wings spread.
Further engravings read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER,” added by the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
A PCGS MS-69 “First Strike” coin
